Mission Statement

To provide music in the Mass as instructed by the Catholic Church “For the glory of God and the sanctification of the faithful”, and to console the Sacred Heart of Jesus in the Eucharist through beauty by fostering relationships with each other and with Christ.

Following the call of the Second Vatican Council to encourage ‘full and active participation’ from the congregation for the ‘glory of God and the sanctification of the faithful’, the St. Jude of the Lake Music Ministry team strives to provide music for Mass that will draw the congregation into worship and lift their minds and hearts to Christ. As Annamaria Cardinalli writes in her book Music and Meaning in the Mass, “It is no exaggeration to say that you (musicians) are in the business of making saints!” We take our role in drawing the faithful to Christ with utmost gravity and joy.

On the occasion of our nation’s Eucharistic Revival, the St. Jude Music team recognizes the grave importance that their work has in consoling the Sacred Heart of Jesus in the Eucharist and in communicating to the congregation the drama of the sacrifice of Calvary that takes place every Mass! Thus, our music is not simply a ministry, but is a great act of love to our Divine Lover, Christ, truly present on the altar at every Mass. Every Mass we “Behold the Heart that has so loved men that it has spared nothing”, and we strive through beautiful music to console that Heart which so often receives cold and indifferent responses (Jesus to St. Margaret Mary).
