Vacation Bible School (VBS) is a ministry outreach we here at St. Jude is providing to educate children about God. The purpose is to incorporate themed activities that entertain kids with the chance to learn about God.
Vacation Bible School is an easy way to get kids involved in church community while giving you the opportunity to meet the people within the church, too. VBS is typically a week-long affair that takes place in the summer. Children attend around three to four hours each day. Vacation Bible School teachers are church staff as well as church members volunteering their time. Many of the church members helping out with VBS are parents, too.
A typical day at Vacation Bible School may include:
- Arts and crafts
- Bible stories
- Character-building activities
- Games
- Prayer
- Puppet shows
- Skits
- Snack breaks
- Songs
- Sports activities

Totus Tuus Summer 2025
Totus Tuus is for children grades 1st-12th) and Vacation Bible School is for grades Pre-K through Kindergarten)
Elementary Dates (1st-6th): Monday, June 16th – Friday, June 20th, 9:00 am – 2:30 pm
Secondary Dates (7th-12th): Sunday, June 15th – Thursday, June 19th, 6:00 PM – 8:15 PM (Dinner included)
This year’s theme is The Sacraments and the Joyful Mysteries of the Rosary.
Totus Tuus (Latin for ‘Totally Yours’) is a fun and energetic parish-based summer catechetical program, for both grade school-age children and junior and senior high school youth. Totus Tuus is dedicated to sharing the Gospel and promoting the Catholic Faith through catechesis, evangelization, Christian witness, and Eucharistic worship. The goal of Totus Tuus is to help young people grow in the understanding of and strengthen their faith in Jesus Christ. It is only by establishing a real and personal relationship with Him that we can be led to a love of the Father in the Spirit and so be made sharers in the life of the Holy Trinity.
The Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis gathers college students and seminarians into teams of four to train them and send them out on the road to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ in various parishes throughout the Archdiocese. Their youthfulness, energy, and ability to witness to the faith make our teachers particularly effective with children and young people.
St. Jude of the Lake is also looking for 2 host families to host either the male or female Totus Tuus missionaries for the week they are serving here. I invite you to prayerfully consider this way to serve and show radical hospitality. We are looking for families to host 2 missionaries from Saturday, June 14th to Saturday, June 21st.
